Thép không gỉ là gì?

Thép không gỉ (tiếng Anh: Stainless steel) hay còn gọi là inox, thép chống ăn mòn (CRES) và thép không rỉ là hợp kim của sắt có khả năng chống rỉ sét và ăn mòn. Theo Tiêu chuẩn Quốc tế ISO 15510:2014 (TCVN 10356:2017) Thép không gỉ (inox) chứa ít nhất 10,5% crom và thường là niken, cũng như 0,2 đến 2,11% cacbon. Khả năng chống ăn mòn của thép không gỉ (Inox) là nhờ crom, chất này tạo thành một lớp màng thụ động có thể bảo vệ vật liệu và tự phục hồi khi có oxy.
