Tuần lễ an toàn cho hành khách là trẻ em

 

Cơ quan An toàn Đường cao tốc Quốc gia Hoa Kỳ (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - NHTSA) phát động "TUẦN LỄ AN TOÀN CHO HÀNH KHÁCH LÀ TRẺ EM" từ ngày 17 - 23/9/2017

Theo Cơ quan này, cứ 22 phút lại có một trẻ em ở độ tuổi dưới 13 tuổi liên quan đến tai nạn xe cộ. Rất nhiều trong số những nạn nhân trẻ em này có thể tránh được tử vong hoặc bị thương nếu sử dụng và sử dụng đúng cách chỗ ngồi trên xe và thắt dây an toàn.

Dữ liệu của NHTSA cho thấy rằng khi trẻ ở độ tuổi lớn hơn, chúng lại có xu hướng ít sử dụng dây an toàn. Ở Hoa Kỳ trong 5 năm qua, 1.552 trẻ em trong độ tuổi từ 8 đến 14 chết trong các tai nạn xe hơi, trong số đó 1/2 không thắt dây an toàn.

Cha mẹ cần nhắc nhở thường xuyên để luôn đảm bảo an toàn cho chính bản thân họ và con cái họ. Tuần lễ này nhằm mục đích cải thiện việc sử dụng dây an toàn một cách phù hợp và đảm bảo an toàn và cuộc sống cho tất cả mọi người, đặc biệt là trẻ em.
