Tiêu chuẩn quốc tế ISO 7010:2011 quy định các ký hiệu an toàn cho mục đích ngăn ngừa tai nạn, phòng cháy, thông tin nguy hiểm cho sức khoẻ và sơ tán khẩn cấp.

Hình dạng và màu sắc của mỗi ký hiệu an toàn phù hợp với tiêu chuẩn ISO 3864-1 và việc thiết kế các biểu tượng đồ họa theo tiêu chuẩn ISO 3864-3.

Tiêu chuẩn quốc tế ISO 7010: 2011 áp dụng cho tất cả các địa điểm có đề cập đến vấn đề an toàn liên quan đến con người. Tuy nhiên, Tiêu chuẩn này không áp dụng cho tín hiệu được sử dụng để hướng dẫn đường sắt, đường bộ, đường sông, hàng hải và hàng không và nói chung đối với những khu vực có quy định khác với một số điểm được quy định trong Tiêu chuẩn quốc tế ISO 7010:2011 và ISO 3864.

ISO 7010:2011 quy định các nhãn hiệu an toàn có thể được thu nhỏ cho mục đích sao chép và ứng dụng.

Tiêu chuẩn quốc tế ISO 7010:2011 hiện đã có Bản sửa đổi 7 (ISO 7010:2011/Amd 7:2016).
