The standard applies for grades of steel castings with definite chemical composition and specified values for the mechanical properties at room temperature and which are used for general purposes. The grades of steel castings show an improved weldability and toughness compared with the grades according to DIN 1681. Described are the requirementsfor the delivery condition, the chemical composition, the mechanical properties, shape and dimensions. In addition, the general technical delivery conditions for steel castings according to DIN 1690 part 1 and part 2 are to be taken into consideration.
