The standard includes specifications for connection flues (waste-gas pipes or channels) as well as for all appliances located in connection flues which carry flue gases under negative pressure from fireplaces into chimneys and therefore are part of a fireplace. Connection flues have to be installed with due regard to all regulations concerning the fire protection of building. Moreover, the operating reliability must not be impaired, e.g. by extreme cooling of the flue gases in the connection flue.
