Supersedes the IEC Publications 48, 101 and 102. Applies to rotating electrical machines forming part of the equipment of electrically propelled rail and road vehicles. Deals mainly with the terms and tests of these machines on vehicles, which may obtain power either from an external supply or from an internal source. The electrical inputs or outputs of the above machines may be of the following types: direct current including rectified multiphase, pulsating current, single-phase and multiphase alternating current.
