Specification of a method for the determination of the viscosity number of dilute solutions of polyamides in certain specified solvents. The method is applicable to all polyamides and copolyamides, that are soluble in one of the specified solvents, but is not applicable to polyamides with crosslinked structure. Measurement of the flow time of the pure solvent and of a 0,005 g/ml polyamide solution, using the same viscosimeter. Calculation of the viscosity number from these measurement results.
