The standard applies to seamless and welded square or rectangular tubes (hollow sections) of fine grain steels for engineering purposes. Hollow sections delivered according to this standard are used, e.g., in superstructures and substructures, tubular steel constructions, bridge constructions and crane constructions.*The standard specifies the requirements concerning e.g. manufacturing process, delivery condition, chemical composition, mechanical and technological properties, tolerances on dimensions and form. The standard includes specifications for testing and marking the hollow sections.
