This European standard specifies requirements for design, materials, construction and performance for indirectly heated, unvented (closed) hot water storage vessels and units intended for connection to a water supply at a pressure between 0.5 and 10 bar. The standard specifies the use of control and safety devices designed to prevent the stored drinking water operating temperature from reaching 100 °C.
