The standard contains a method for the determination of the flow time of paints, varnishes and similar coating materials. As the test apparatus the DIN flow cup, having a jet diameter of 4 mm, is used. All required details, including a calibration curve for the flow cup, are given in the standard. An additional diagram allows a comparison of the measured flow times with those, which will be obtained when the ISO flow cups according to DIN ISO 2431 are used.
