The document applies to factory made expanded polystyrene (EPS) in the form of boards and sheets which are used for impact sound insulation in building construction. The products also serve to improve thermal insulation and, combined with a floating floor, also to improve airborne sound insulation. It also applies to impact sound insulating materials with facings and/or profiles. It does not apply to products used for thermal insulation purposes only.
