The document is one of a series of approximately 25 planned standards which specify test methods for determining dimensions and properties ot thermal insulating materials and products. It is applicable to thermal insulation produts for application in buildings but it may also be used in other areas where it is relevant. It specifies the equipment and procedures for determining the thickness of thermal insulating poducts for impact sound insulation in floating floor applications. The test method is designed to assess the tickness of test specimens which result from loads of 250 Pa (thickness dL), of 2 kPA (tickness dF) and of 2 kPA after application of a short time additional load of 48 kPA (thickness dB).
