Applies to locomotives and motor coaches in which the motive power delivered by one or several thermal engines is electrically transmitted to the driving axles. Covers electrical transmissions including the d.c./d.c. and the polyphase/d.c. transmissions. Also valid, if applicable, for the most driving trailers or intermediate cars, for generator sets provided for auxiliary purposes and for the electrical transmissions other than above conventional ones.
