The EEC-Council agreed to the frame directive "lifting and mechanical handling appliances" and to the special directive "electrical driven lifts" on 1984-09-17. These directives were published on 1984-09-26. The EEC has renounced in these directives for elimination of technical barriers to trade to work out technical rules and is referring in the special directive "electrical driven lifts" in its annex of the European standard EN 81/1. This European standard was accepted by CEN on 1985-06-26. DIN accepted this European standard and has integrated it unchanged in the German regulations.
