The standard specifies the material requirements for bright steels produced from steels for quenching and tempering. The standard includes specifications regarding manufacturing process, delivery condition, mechanical and technological properties, hardness and hardenability, inner and outer soundness and testing. The standard is to be used together with DIN 1652 part 1 and DIN 17200.
