The document specifies two alternative methods fdor determining hygroscopic sorption properties of porous building materials and products. One method uses desiccators and weighing cups (desiccators method). The desiccators method is the climatic chamber (climatic chamber method). The desiccators method is the reference method. The method specified in this standard can be used to determine the moisture content of a sample in equilibrium with air at a specific temperature and humidity. The standard does not specify the method for sampling.
