The document applies to the tolerances specified in DIN 18202, DIN 18203-1, DIN 18203-2 and DIN 18203-3. It applies to both the manufacture of building elements and the execution of structures. The purpose of the standard is the specification of principles for tolerances and for tolerances. Compliance with tolerances is necessary in order for the intended functions to be fulfilled in spite of the unavoidable inaccuracies that occur during measuring, production and installation. It also enables structures and the elemnts of both the carcass and the interior finishes and services to be assembly properly without the need for adjustments or reworking.
