The standard contains basic specifications for the surface preparation of steel structures for the protection from corrosion by organic and metallic coatings. Surface preparation grades for uncoated and coated steel surfaces are defined and information on surface preparation methods are given. Furthermore, the roughness and the provisional protection of prepared surfaces are dealt with.
