Provides a basis for the development of individual new standards concerning the performance and constructional characteristics of such apparatuses which are designed to determine specific physical and/or chemical quantities of measured materials. Terminology and logical groupings of items are provided which should be common to all of the individual documents prepared for each class of instruments. May also serve as a guide for the writing of contracts between manufacturers and users for custom-designed systems. Safety aspects are not included.
