The standard describes a method for the determination of the evaporation rate of solvents. The evaporation rate is a measure for the fastness of a liquid to evaporate in air at a given temperature below the boiling point. The determination of the evaporation rate following this standard serves to evaluate the aptitude of solvents for the production of paints, varnishes and similar coating materials.
