Describes the procedures for evaluation of the properties of magnetic tapes for video recording and reproduction. Applies to testing environment, mechanical properties, electromagnetic and electrical properties and tape properties measured on a video tape recorder. Figures are given with a test system for dynamic measurement of longitudinal curvature, of coefficient of friction, of friction and of coating resistance.
