In the standard the definitions and processes for thermal spraying are classified and explained. Ordinal characteristics for the thermal spraying processes are the kind of spraying agent, kind of production method and kind of source of energy. For the thermal spraying processes, classified according to the source of energy, the explanations for definitions were given with elementary sketches. The other definitions comprise general definitions, procedural definitions and definitions for the characteristic of coatings.
