Applicable to polyethylenes of low, medium and high density and to polypropylenes including isotactic, syndiotactic and atactic polymers. The determinaton of the flow times is caaried out at a temperature of 135 °C and redistillated, stabilized dekahydronaphthalene is used as solvent. The concentration of polymer in the dilute solutions shall be such, that viscosity ratio increment compered with the pure solvent is between 0,2 and 1. The viskosity number shall be calculated from the flow time measurements of the solvent and the polymer solutions under equal conditions, using the specified Ubbelohde viscosimeter.
