This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 2597:1973), of which it constitutes a technical revision. Specifies two titrimetric methods using potassium dichromate after reduction of the trivalent iron by tin(II) chloride (method 1) or hydrogen sulfide (method 2). Both methods are applicable to a concentration range of 30 to 72 % (m/m) of iron in natural iron ores, and iron ore concentrates and agglomerates including sinter products.
