Applies to wires used for the internal wiring of telecommunication equipment or for the internal wiring of industrial and consumer electronic equipment. Covers wire construction and dimensions. Specifies mechanical, climatic and electrical requirements including requirements for thermal stability. Single equipment wires, equipment wires in pairs and triples, the calculation of the maximum diameter of insulated conductors and the construction of conductors are dealt with in four appendices. Shall be used in conjunction with IEC 189-1.
