The standard describes the requirements and testing of water softeners (cation exchanger) for the installation in the drinking water systems of houses. There are given the definitions of terms, the requirements regarding the protection of consumers (material, hygiene ect.) and the corresponding tests. Standard apparatus get a DIN-DVGW-test certificate.
