Applies to electronic uninterruptible power systems with an electrical energy storage device in the d.c. link. It is to be used with IEC 60950-1 which is referred to in this standard as "RD". Jean-Paul Beaudet (MGE UPS Systems), Secretary of IEC Subcommittee 22H (Uninterruptible power systems/UPS) says: "This standard is the only updated international standard giving all the tests and safety requirements for the medium and large power UPS. Intended for R&D engineers of UPS manufacturers, test laboratories, electrical installers for business (data centres) and industrial applications, it specifies the requirements necessary to ensure the safety of service people."
