For the determination of density the product which is to be analyzed is filled in a tube that is stretched in a frame at the ends. The resonance frequency of the tube which is stimulated to oscillation depends on the mass contained in the volume of the tube and thus on the density of the filled-in fluid. After the calibration with two mediums with known density the density can be determined from the resonance frequency. The method can be applied to liquid and pastylike coating materials and similar materials. Is the device resistant to pressure it might as well be used for aerosols.
