All these types impart specific drying properties depending on the metal used. As metals are used: cobald, manganese, lead, zinc, calium, cerium (or other rare earths), iron, zirconium, vanadium and barium. As acids are used: fatty acids of linseed oils, resinic acids, fatty iso-acids with 9 carbon atoms, etc.
