Specifies design requirements and performance characteristics of personal monitors used for the determination of the personal dose equivalent and/or the personal dose equivalent rate from strongly penetrating radiation. Such monitors are designed to measure the sum of the X, gamma and high energy beta dose equivalent (rate) and neutron dose equivalent (rate) although they may additionally also separately indicate a dose equivalent (rate) from each of these components.
