Deals with the steady-state operation: characteristics of the motor, frequency spectrum of voltage and/or currents, additional losses, torque deratings during converter operation, oscillating torques, magnetically excited noise, service life of the insulation system, shaft voltages. Only indirect type converters are considered. A converter may include transistors, thyristors or GTO-thyristors as power semiconductors, with analog or digital control electronics.
