General specification for rotational viscometers for the determination of the viscosity of polymers in the liquid or liquidlike state, using using different measuring etements: coaxial cylinders, cone and plate or double-cone. The measurements can be made at one or more defined shear rates and at one or more temperatures. Further it is possible to derive curves of viscosity as a function of shear rate or of temperature between specified limits.
