Describes a small-scale laboratory screening procedure for comparing appropriate characteristics. Specimens are exposed to a low energy source. Intended for quick and simple assessment of burning characteristics. No reference to environmental conditions. Therefore, a correlation between the results and performance of the material or products under actual service conditions not possible. Restricted to specimens of thickness greater than 5 mm; results not comparable with those for other thicknesses.
