The document describes two methods for the determination of colour of natural water and waste water, following ISO 7887. Method 1 is a visual examination of the water in diffuse light against a bright dackground. Method 2 determines the colour of the water by measurement of the extinction at 3 wavelengths with a filter- or spectrophotometer.
