The method specified is intended primarily for testing hydraulic hoses with textile or wire reinforcement and a nominally smooth and parallel cover, and other hoses of similar type. Not intended for predicting products abrasion life, but suitable for the comparison of quality levels. Does not specify the number of cycles for each test; this number will be specified in the appropriate product specification. 2 figures show the test apparatus and the dimensional details of an abrading tool.
