Applies to automatic gain control circuits (AGC-circuits) used for different purposes in sound systems. Includes devices which have limiting and/or compressing properties with respect to the envelope of the input signal. Does not include expanders, clipping devices and devices, in which gain is controlled by an external source. Relates to the characteristics to be specified and the relevant methods of measuring.
