Describes methods for the determination of dielectric dissipation factors, relative permittivity and d.c. resistivity of hydrocarbons and askarels which are liquid at the test temperature. The methods are intended for making reference tests on unused liquids, but they may also be applied to liquids in service in transformers, cables and other electrical apparatus. For routine determinations the simplified procedures, as described in the appendix may be adopted.
