The method is intended for testing adhesives used in bonding wood to wood. Standard specimens are prepared from timber blocks. Test joints with a bond area of 50 mm x 40 mm are the most common type. The adhesive shall be applied to the blocks in accordance with the procedure recommended by the manufacturer of the adhesive. The mean breaking force strength and the mean percentage of wood failure shall be reported.
