Defines the general conditions for making thermogravimetric measurements on polymers. The change in mass of a sample as a function of temperatures measured while the sample is heated at a constant rate. The normal operating temperature range is from ambient temperature up to 600 or 800 °C . Any calibrated instrument capable performing the measurements under the specified conditions may be used. The data are recorded on a TG- curve. TG data can be used to ebaluate the relative thermal behaviour of polymers of the same generic family.
