Whenever a measurement of flow-rate is made, the value obtained is simply the best estimate of the true flow-rate which can be obtained from the experimental data. In practice, the true flow-rate may be slightly greater or less than this value. Describes the calculations required in order to arrive at a statistical estimate of the intervall within which the true flow-rate may be expected to lie.
