The tests described are intended to determine the influence of one or more flowing polluting gas(es) at concentrations less than 10-6 (vol/vol) on electrotechnical components and other products, particularly contacts and/or connections, considered separately or integrated in a product or assembled into a sub-assembler equipment. The parameters that are important are the materials used for the test chamber and the gas handling system, the geometry of the test chamber, the rate and pattern of the gas flow, the efficiency of gas mixing and the incident illumination.
