The standard deals with requirements, regarding fire safety and measures to ensure the reliability of electric cable systems in the case of fire and specifies the respective test method. The field of application is limited to cables with a nominal voltage op up to 1 kV. The reliability of electric cable systems in accordance with this standard does not cover a voltage drop due to a temperature related increase of resistance of the conductors.
