Photometers within the meaning of this standard are devices for the comparing measurement of preferably spectral radiation rates, which serve for the determination of optical characteristics of analytical test samples by using the basic processes as layed down in DIN 58960 part 1 in order to draw conclusions on the qualitative or quantitative structure of the analytical test sample.
