This part of the standard contains the requirements for quartz filled epoxy resinuous compounds in the cured form. To comply with this standard the content of quartz filler in the compounds shall be between 45 % and 60 % by mass. Six classes of such compounds, with the designations EP-F-1 to EP-F-6 ordered in a sequence of decreasing temperatures of defection under load, are specified by 16 property requirements given in a table. The properties in the uncured form are not specified, but subject to buyer-seller agreement.
