Describes a method for determining the coefficients of starting and sliding friction of plastic film and sheeting when sliding over itself or other substances under specified test conditions. The method described is taken directly from ASTM D 1894. The procedure permits the use of a stationary sled with a moving plane or a moving plane with a stationary sled. The measurement of the static coefficient of friction is highly dependent on the rate loading and on blocking, if occurs.
