This recommendation describes the procedure to be used for sampling liquid dielectrics (askarels or hydrocarbon oils) in delivery containers and in electrical equipment and applies to liquids whose viscosity at the sampling temperature is less than 1500 cST. It deals with general principles for the sampling of liquid dielectrics, sampling equipment, sample containers, recommended quantities and special precautions.
