This standard gives ranges of orientation for the assessment of the climate at the workplace and in this environment which can be tolerated by human beings. The standard is applicable for workplaces where work is performed regularly and acclimatized persons not wearing heat protection clothing.*The standard is not applicable for outdoor work, underground workings under the supervision of mining authorities, cold areas, individual days, when the outside-air temperature rises above 32 °C with the result that the limits of climate which can be tolerated by human beings may be exceeded and exposure times less than 15 minutes.
