The clauses of part 1 (IEC 1010-1, first edition, including amendment 1) apply except of the replacements, supplements and modifications given. Among others, adds new subclauses 5.2.101, 5.4.3.101, 5.4.4.101 to clause 5 (Marking and documentation), 6.1.101 to clause 6 (Protection against electric shock), Appendix AA (Guidance and additional safety means for protection against overtemperature), and completely replaces subclause 9.5 including its title (now: Overtemperature protection).
