The standard describes a chemical method for the determination of the residue on ignition and the loss on ignition from the total dry mass of sludge or sediment.*The sample for the examination is the dry mass found with the method DIN 38414 part 2. The sample is to ignite in a heating furnace and afterwards the parameters are to compute by mass ratio.
