Specifies a system for the uniform marking of products that have been fabricated from plastic materials. Provision for the process or processes to be used for marking is outside the scope. The marking system should help identify plastic products for subsequent decisions relating to handling, waste recovery or disposal. The symbols and abbreviated terms used are intended to provide generic identification of the plastics.
